After the first fish of the day i make sure the livewell lever is on auto and i proceed to turn the aerator on to fill the well, but its only filling the well about 20% of the way up and then it shuts off.I usually end up using the “pump in” switch to fill it, is this normal? The fish are usually laying sideways battling to stay under water by just using the aerator to fill.

There is a small detent position on the lever, that you feel the last quarter of an inch throw in the lever. This is the final valve closing and the freshwater in should actually overperform the drain in the wells.

are you saying that the reason its not filling up is because the water is draining because the lever isnt all the way in the “Auto” position?wouldnt it still drain if i used the auto fill then? because the water in the well stays at a constant level after i auto fill it. I just cant flip the aerator on after my first fish and forget it because the water level is super low.

you need to run the pump in switch or manual to fill to the desired level then you can use the timed aerator setting after that. when you try to fill the livewell using the 5 or 3 minute timing it is timing out too quickly to fill to the desired level.
