I’m assuming you have the Empty / Auto actuator? If that’s is a true statement, I would spend some time looking at your actuator, because I had to replace mine. The first step is to make sure you moved the actuator lever far enough, kind of like a detent click. If you’re confident you have moved the lever as far as it can go, I’d temporarily remove it out of the boat, disconnect the cable, and then use your pliers to move the cable in/out from this end for observation of valve open/close

Mine is just the flowrite open and closed lever. I’ll try and take it off and see if I can move the cable/adjust from that end. Is there anything special about taking it off (other than the two screws)?

Curious since I’m having similar problems and there is no drain holes in bottom of livewells, what size plug would fit the gravity drain that is at the center rear of the live wells.? My bilge lever can be moved by hand but won’t stop water from coming in and have to move by hand to allow water to drain – or use the “pump out”. But would prefer to stop any water from getting into live wells, don’t need any weight in the rear of boat – having enough planing problems without it. thanks ……………………BTW not trying to hi-jack thread, I just have very similar problem as auto – empty actuator is not working right for sure in mine.

Those drain plugs are available through parts bobsquatch13.

The cable assembly is fairly simple and on a newer valve there’s a slight detent that final closes the valve. Older model were push pull choke cable style, newer ones twist.

My livewell control valve would not close all the way, unless I used pliers to pull it closed in the bilge area. I replaced the valve and I am still having the same issue. Could the cable be in a bind? It’s a 14 P2 and I’m the second owner.

On my Puma I center the cable and it emptys and switch it to the rear to close it.

Are the live well drain “screens” just pry off or are they screwed on. Need to block off and try to prevent water coming into the live wells as valve control doesn’t work – I think broken at the auto – empty switch below throttle? I don’t fish tourn. any more so don’t want water coming into the live wells at all.
