Not too long ago I replaced my control and cable because I sheared off the handle. All seemed to work very smooth for a couple tournies. Then, I seen a post (just looked for it, could not find it) that the vendor sent out a lot of controller/handle/cable assys that had may have had a piece (clip?) behind the handle not installed. This may result in the cable coming off behind the handle??? BCB posted some pics. Anyone remember this post?This weekend I was unable to close my live-well off. Handle pretty much turns 360. Gonna dig into it, and take a look behind there. I also plan on removing the valve, may be a shad stuck in there? Removed the panel and the cable end was connected thru the hole but not the cable itself. It seems the black dome part is missing? Broke off and lost inside maybe? Anyone else experience the dome part breaking off? Guess I will just order another cable?? Pic below is a normal cable from BCB .

That little piece of plastic locks the cable end in place where it attaches to the bracket. This is so the cable cant spin in place, or cause it to come loose from the actuator arm(part with the hole thru it). There may not be anything wrong with the L/W control valve or the actuator however the cable and actuator come as one assembly if needing replaced. No known cause for breakage as this hasnt been a mentioned problem by others.

BCB, thx. I ordered a new cable/actuator last night. Also ordered a complete set of Southco lock/latches to replace the perkos… $$$$… I hope the perko holes do not to be modified.

I believe you will have to make the holes larger for the Southco latches.

A good tip is to carry a 5/8″ plug so if/when your live-well valve fails you can plug the drain valve from the inside.
