Hi guys I need your help. My last couple trips out I have felt like my livewells havent been keeping my fish as healthy as they used to. Here are a couple questions. My boat is a 2010 cougar FTD. 1- when the boat is out of the water (with livewell valve on auto) there is a small amount of water coming out of the drain (bottom of the boat). Is this normal? 2- while troubleshooting the problem today I notice that the white valve on the top right of my livewell with the same red open/close lever is cracked and leaking very bad. Would this affect my livewell performance? 3- how do I replace this part it looks to be glued on? 4- does basscat sell that valve? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, my first tournament of the year is this next Sunday.

When boat is out of the water there should be no water coming from the live well. Switch should be in “full auto” with only “recirculator” running. The cracked valve you speak of should be replaced. You should also check that your pumps have a strong output and that your spray nozzles are not plugged and spraying a strong stream.Other than that Im not sure what else to check. Good luck with it.Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!

The valve at the bilge is cleanable. You will have to remove it though. Another thing I have done with some sucess is to back flush it from the very bck of the boat with a hose pipe. I crappie fish so when I empty my wells sometimes scales get lodged in the little flappers inside the valve. Anything that is cracked definitly needs to be replaced though. The spray bars are a custom build from CPVC and those parts should be available at Home Depot, Lowes, or your local building supply/plumbing warehouse. The valve on the main line thats leaking is letting water drain out when running underway and your fish go dry. That FlowRite valve and cable assembly is either a loose cable that slips instead of moving the arm, or the rubber lap inside the valve is aged and needs replacing. BCB does not stock the rubber flapper, though they do sell the valve.
