livewell issue

No offense to the mechanic but he should be able to fix this issue. Over time the flapper in the valve is rubber and will start leaking. You can buy a new one here: http://www.basscatstore.c…?PageAction=Custom&ID=120 The 2nd item down should get you fixed up. Make sure your valve is closing all the way because if it isnt it is in the switch assembly and not the valve…but one a boat your age I would bet it would be the valve and especially if you have used it alot. As said, check the valve assembly for proper movement. W/ the assembly being 8 years old it may need replacemnt. The wire connection on my 2000 model Jag is the reason my switch no longer functions via the control switch near the shifter. I am able to fully close the valve by moving the valve lever by hand so I know my assembly is still good. The alternative to valve assembly replacement is plugging the livewell manually. You will have to remove the bottom screen to do so. The screen simply screws on/off.
