Livewell lighting question

My 2001 Pantera III has amber lights in both livewells. No switches attached to the lids. How do I get these to come on? They should be connected to the Acc. switch on the dash panel…..Sherm

How would you go about adding lights to the accessary switch on an older Pantera Classic? Id like to install lights in my rod boxes and in the livewell. It seems that all the connectors are taken up and crowded. I sure dont want to create a nightmare! I wonder if it would just be easier to add a seperate switch all together?

That would be our suggestion, though if you have an accessory switch on your dash you can add them. The other lights in the boxes are on either mercury switches or push button. BCB

Let me get this right! I am to splice into the accessory (red) wire at the circuit breakers and then follow the wire chace through the rod box. The ground wire should be run back to the transom and connected to the battery I suppose? How do you go about running the wire into the center storage box? How do you get the wire into the livewell so you can see down in there? I looked at another Basscaters post where he installed some sort of fantastic led light system in his Cougar and man did it look Great!

bassasom, Since your boxes are all fiber glassed together, then routing is a challenge. Though you can run wires and tie them up under the lips, then grommet them through the walls. The wire is a colored wire (orange we think? though not sure) from your accessory switch on your dash. You can run from the terminal block on the transom, or the master power switch also. Routing it best figured out once you determine the source of power. BCB
