Livewell Pump issue

Aellen I have never experienced that problem before. This is such a simple operation that I am hesitant to even comment but I am just trying to be helpful. Usually simply press the tab and rotate the cartridge and if you are doing it correctly it is a two hand operation with one hand on the tab and the other rotating the cartridge.Maybe this is the first time you have done this yourself? Are you using the fins on the cartridge for leverage? Most importantly are you trying to turn the cartridge counter clockwise?? (to the left to remove)If you arent the original owner perhaps the previous one glued it into place? (you just never know)Your post sounds like you know what you are doing so beyond double checking that you are working the tab and cartridge on the same pump housing then I am clueless from behind my desk trying to help. This sounds like a mystery but may have a simple solution when its all said and done. Hopefully someone else might have a helpful solution. Good luck and let us know how this works out. Thank you for the advice, I am not sure what is going on, the rest of the pumps all turn out with no problem. It is acting like it is glued shut like you said. Very Frustrating

Had same thing happen on my brothers boat last year. Probably ran without water and overheated. It swelled up and melted the outside housing. Had a real hard time getting it out of housing. When I finally did the new cartridge wouldnt fit in the old housing. Had to replace the whole unit. Sounds exactly what I went through.
