I have a 2011 P2. Two weeks ago I was on the water and went to turn on the Pump In and it would not turn on. Tried Pump Out, Aerator, Recirc, Bilge and none would work. The buttons on the dash would make a clicking noise like normal, but the pumps would not turn on. I reset the breaker, and messed with the buttons a little more and nothing. Waited about 5 minutes and everything started working. I checked them in the garage a few days afterwards and they were good. Checked them tonight and same thing. Tonight, I went through the same process mentioned above and they started working again.Im assuming there is a short somewhere? Has anyone had this problem, or know what my problem is?Thanks in advance.

I would say its probably not a “short” somewhere but could be a ground problem like a loose connection or poor crimp. Start with the terminal strip on the driver side of the transom and check all of the connections for good contact and cleanliness. Pull on the wires and see if any one of them comes loose or appear to be moving in the crimp. Also check your ground connection from the battery to the terminal strip. I would also check the “resettable fuse” in the power line to the terminal strip (if it has one).

Anytime i have issues like this my first stop is always the terminal block at the back of the boat. When i got my p2 i had similar issues. I removed each wire, cleaned with a small brush, give it a little tug, applied some dielectric. Been good to go every since!
