I have a 522c on the front deck of my Classic. For about a month now my temp reading has been jumping on & off. Last weekend it went out completely during a tourny on Greers Ferry. My transducer / temp sensor (puck type) is strapped to the bottom of the TM foot. I have checked for broken wires, pin condition on connectors on back of unit, dang near everything I can think of. All other functions are working fine. Question: does anyone know of tests I can run to determine if the problem is the temp sensor or the 522 unit before I have to buy a new puck? Any help would be greatly appreciated. LR Mike

Take the unit off and plug it in at the console if you have a similar unit at the console with the same connectors. Borrow a friends unit with the same connectors and plug it into yours. My guess is that its the unit itself.

Find a 300 series (320 etc.) 520, 510 or 522 on another boat and see if yours acts the same on another connection. Then try the other unit on your rig. You can do this in the garage and not necessarily at the lake.

Phil & BCB, many thanks for the advice. I did as both of you suggested. Tried my unit on a friends tranducer/temp sensor, worked fine. Tried the friends unit on my tranducer/temp sensor, no work. Long story short: new pod was the answer. Thanks for your help. LR Mike
