loading boat pics and short video…

after reading all the posts about trouble loading boats I thought i would take a few pics and a short video this afternoon coming in. Hope this may help some of those having trouble. This may not be the “right” way but it works for me.trailer backed in where short bunks are just under water. short video of loadinghttp://youtu.be/Xp_4vROJyBEview of boat loading showing ramp anglethis is a fairly average ramp angle for this area not real steep and not to shallow. On a steeper ramp i might leave just the tips of the short bunks exposed. I have a 04 p4 with a 3.0L efi 26 fury. Motor is very strong and has no trouble pushing the boat even with more of the trailer out of the water. I can go just a bit deeper with the trailer and not have to power up much if any although i would have to attach strap before pulling out to keep it from sliding back. Most times i hook the strap before pulling out just to be safe!!hope this helps!

you have your winch strap wrong. It needs to be under the bottom roller.

Some folks hook strap straight on to pull it in and switch once its out.C.O.D. Jr. III

It goes between the two rollers to winch the boat up tight. after the boat is in parking lot take the hook lose and go under the roller and tighten back down. When the strap is under the bottom roller it does not allow you to winch the boat up. here is how i strap it. I lay the strap in between the rollers when i unhook it instead of it hanging on the metal part of the upright.If thats the only thing you found wrong then i guess i did good!

great pic and short vid i think that could help alot of us mine goes on good only prob i ever had was i had backed in to far and when i got out of the boat it must of floated more and started to slide off trl but again thanks for the effort and time .

jbassertn wrote: great pic and short vid i think that could help alot of us mine goes on good only prob i ever had was i had backed in to far and when i got out of the boat it must of floated more and started to slide off trl but again thanks for the effort and time .I usually angle the truck a little just as the trailer goes in the water so i can see the bunks good out the side view mirror. once the small bunks just submerge I put it in park and the little bit of roll back for park to engage is just about perfect. this allows enough tension between the boat and trailer for it to hold tight while hooking strap. On a steep ramp i will leave just a small bit of the small bunks exposed to help pick the nose up better. I fish by myself quit a bit so ive learned to hit it right the first time so i dont have to get back in the truck to reposition the trailer!!
