locator hookup

I have a 91 P2 that i am putting a new locator on at the console and i was wondering how to wire this unit to run off the t/m batteries? Also I have seastar hydraulic steering and took the boa out for the first time this yr. and was running it and looked down and hydaulic was pouring out onto my pant legs. I can see it is leaking somewhere by the fittings but they are tight, kinda of odd it hasnt leaked before . thnx mark

DO NOT DRIVE THAT BOAT! You have a seal out probably, or a hose issue. In 1991 BCB did not install hydraulic steering, so this is an after market modification. The steering must be researched, and it will leak when you turn it to full lock and rotate the steering wheel. You will easily find the source. Hooking to the trolling batteries will require going direct to the rear with new wiring. BCB
