Traveling on interstates today, noticing a ton of people travelling with covers on their boats. I have always left it off, assuming the flapping with the wind would do more harm than good. Thoughts?
Just learned the hard way, its a bad idea. Im going to have to take the boat in and have all the scuff marks from the cover waxed out. I have seen guys use big plastic wrap and go around the top edge of the boat to combat that from happening though.
I have traveled with my deans cover and never had any scuff problems.. I believe in my opinion and practice twisting the tie down straps and tighten the chord as tight as possible eliminated all the flutter at the edge of cover
My experience has been that you get better economy WITHOUT the cover . ( 1.5 mpg ) — The wind curling over your vehicle creates downforce directly on top of the boat I guess . — ???
Ive not towed with a cover, even on long trips for years. Im waiting on a cover for my Caracal ought now. If it ever gets delivered to Sherms, I may try it.
For yrs I had to cover my boat cause I didnt have no dry storage. Believe it or not it look way better that most when I sold it awhile back. I dnt cover boats no more. Keep it in a garage. You always see folks cover the top of their rig. Wat about the bottom and fenders? I mean their right in the line of fire for rocks and etc. I fish in watever the weather throws at me. I dnt cancel trips due to weather. I mean it gets spic and span before it get put up anyway. Guess over 20 plus yrs of HAVING TO COVER. Broke me from covering.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
