I have a 1996 Mariner 200 on my PII, for the past couple of years it has set more than usual and because of where I now live the lakes I fish are either No Wake lakes or so small you cant run much over 40 mph. I am concerned that this will cause me problems with my motor due to plug fouling or fuel spoilage, or whatever. I am trying to sell my boat and downsize but havent had much luck yet, should I be concerned with plug fouling or fuel issues? (I only use non-ethanol gas and keep sea foam or other stabilizers in the tanks) Thanks for your advice.

mdo, That would be a great question for Don (European Marine, I believe) to answer on bass boat central. He is the moderator for Mercury engines.

one thing for sure is do not leave fuel in the tanks for long periods as todays fuel breaks down fairly quick. Winterize the motor and you will be fine

Sea foam decarbonizes. Its as good as you can get for what youre needing.

We like Sea Foam and we also like to keep todays tanks lower on fuel for storage. Though not cranking it up wont hurt a thing. Just run it occasionally and enjoy the boat you have without worry. Keep fuel additives in the tanks and run premium to try and get better fuel quality for storage.
