Looking for any info on Lake Dardanelle

Id take your sidefinder and scan the big drops in Piney and just southeast of the nuke plant near the state park launch site.Find a pile and mark it.Pick up some powerbait worms and fish the piles.Can try a 6xd as well or a carolina rig on the drops. Need to find some structure on the drop though to minimze you looking time.All the banks at Dardanelle look good. Dont get fooled. Not all of them are worth a flip. I think you can look for brush in piney on drops and do better than trying to eliminate water by having to cover a huge stretch to find the good spots.The same technique can be applied in Shoal Bay as well. Yes, Be careful within about 50 to 75 yards of the banks, as some have obstacles. Those around the North side of the bridges area are the ones most concerning there. The Ouita area and those weed beds are fine and easy. Early hit those weed beds at Day light (really early) and then move to the drops and weed edges flipping. You can go up river to the jettys and fish the drop Ward mentions in Piney. Hang around the Shoal and Spadra area for some shad action there if you desire. Tough reservoir in the summer and the keys are going to take a few days to figure out. The heat puts them in different areas and the locals wont help you on the little details. BCB

check the lake level. if the water is up to the top of the grass, swim a jig. if the grass is very exposed (8-10″) then move out with a tube or beaver. on jig selection, go with white 5/16 oz. as you clear the grass, pause and let it fall to the bottom. Be ready as they hit it hard and fast. Brushpiles are best fished with texas rigged worm. colors are a tossup, but red shad and junebug are a good start. basketboy I drove over the bottom end of Ky Lake about a week and a half ago and the buoys were leaning so there was a lil current. That place is great id stil like to give Pickwick and Gville a try !!!
