Have a 200 pro XS on a 2013 P2. Running a 1199 and 999 hummingbird, live well, power pole. Looking for the best cranking and recommended size. Thanks.

Whew- I bought an odyssey pc 31m- WASNT CHEAP! but its the brand name version of the pm-1 we used to get a sears. 4 year warranty and a real treat to get into the sump.>1000 cca and >200 reserve capacity.Other than lithium I couldnt find one with better numbers. Other AGMs I had would work ok on starting when it was 20degrees outside but would struggle as all agms do on cold temps.Last edited by clownshoes on May 3rd, 2017, 11:48 pm, edited 2 times in total.C.O.D. The Pro Guide AGM is stock on BCB Premium models and if you are in Missouri or Arkansas there are plenty of Battery Outfitters around that have the house brand. The Sears PM-31 we suggested for more than 10 years is no longer available, as pointed out, and the Odyssey mentioned is the origin of that battery. Either is heavy and will do a fine job.

The Odyssey and pm-31 needs a special charger from what Ive read and been told. I know the pm-31 I had only lasted 6-8 months because my Noco wouldnt charge it all the way and the battery developed a memory. I changed to a 9833 Napa which is a rebadged Deka agm 31 and all is well.

Do these batteries require a special charger? Had a PM-31 battery go bad after 6 months; would show charged, but would only crank motor once. Now discontinued so $275 is history. Was this a charger issue? If so what type batteries should be avoided for use with NOCO charger? Dont have a problem with charger not being right for this application, but can nothing detailing acceptable battery types for NOCO.

Not that we are aware of as weve had the charger tested on AGM batteries. The answer could be a battery issue though thats rare on the PM 31. The battery was discontinued in Sears over a year ago, about 18 months, thus we dont know the age on this battery.

I use the Pro Guide and have had no problems. I also use the Pro Troll batteries for my 36 volt.system.

The PM 31/Odyssey 2150 require a very specific profile for proper charging, otherwise longevity is significantly jeopardized. Only certain onboard AGM chargers have it. They include DP (Delta Volt Series), MK (PC series), Powermania Turbo M series, Promariner (Pronautique series) and Xantrex. The Noco does not have the correct profile and is not on the approved list by Odyssey. Apparently one of the reasons Sears stopped carrying it is because there were too many warranty claims likely due to improper charging.

I know this is a battery question but, here is my 2 cents. I do not use a on board charger any more. I have used several brands and all of them have failed me. I am using three shcumacher ship N shore chargers and I have ended all may battery issues. it takes a little more time to hook up but it is worth the time for peace of mind and batteries that last.
