just watched BM yesterday!! I would have absolutely gone ballistic if I dropped a rod in the water with fish attached!!! , other than that, maybe the funniest thing Ive seen in a while. thats pretty good to loose a fish that way and still win!!! way to go Russ.

What else could he have done-Kick his depthfinder, break his windshield? Russ did what he needed to do. Pick anouther rod, and get back to fishing. Maybe there is a lesson in there some where.

After he did that they kept showing him fighting fish in a similar fashion, 1-handed and getting whooped. I would bet that isnt the first time for him. Pretty funny!

I had that program DVRd and I rewound it 3 times to make sure I saw it right. All I can say is that Russ is a better man than I am cause they would be bleeping me out for at least 5 min after that. The article by DB is right on Russ is a Class Act! Good job BCB he makde you proud!

Did that once during a tourney on Grand. It was cold, windy, and pouring rain. Got a bite, set the hook, and the rod came out of my hands like it was greased. Bounced off the deck and straight in the water…Went in after it and landed the fish. It was a drum…Said #&%* it, loaded up the boat, changed clothes, went to town and ate breakfast…dont think I have what it takes to be a top level angler…

I was impressed that Russ just shook his head and kept on fishing. I am sure i would have had atleast a minor outburst but id never take it out on a innocent boat or rod and reel. They cost too much to fix or replace, The part with Skeet and those dogs in the water was funny and a bit freaky.
