Besides, I think Lowrance is trying to overcome this issue. I have 2 HDS purchased with my PIV. One had to be RMAd. They sent a replacement in 8 working days so I think they are aware of the complaints. When I was at the OI this year, Jason was going to replace it on the spot but it was siliconed onto the console and he was afraid he might scratch the console. Fortunately it worked well enough until I could get it back to Dupo the following week. Jason also monitors the BBC Lowrance section and gives quick advice and help just like the BCB boys do.
