Hopefully someone can help me out there. Just recently, the GPS on my Lowrance is not working. I was looking around in the menus but dont believe I changed any settings. When I turn the unit on it says No GPS Fix. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The 7 has the built in antennae, and i am assuming you did not add the external antennea. Are u trying the unit in a garage or under the shed? If so you will not get a fix in therre it needs to be out in the open. If that doesnt work, go in the menus and initialize the gps and let it reboot. If that doesnt work try a soft reset of the unit, i cant remember the details on that but post your question here and these folks can help u out. http://www.bbcboards.net/zeroforum?id=13

Try over on the Lowrance forum on bassboatcentral.com and someone should be able to help. I am running both Hbird and Lowrances newest generation units on my PIV and Lowrances GPS still updates a lot quicker and is easier for me to use. Youve got a 2 year warranty on the HDS so you should be fine even if you need to have it fixed or replaced. from my own experience I believe that their service has improved, even though it is still not as quick or as friendly as hbird. They sent a replacement in 8 working days so I think they are aware of the complaints. When I was at the OI this year, Jason was going to replace it on the spot but it was siliconed onto the console and he was afraid he might scratch the console. Fortunately it worked well enough until I could get it back to Dupo the following week. Jason also monitors the BBC Lowrance section and gives quick advice and help just like the BCB boys do. I can attest to the fact that it locates very quickly with no loss of position.
