I am planning on adding Lowrance Structure Scan to the front of the boat and reading its own Transducer at the trolling motor. I am better off searching around for a Lss 1 Bundle or will the Lss 2 work fine?Which would you go with and why?Dan

lss1 will be hard to find new i have the lss1 but chose to put it at rear of boat was told on trolling motor that turning it just a little will distort your image i have seen the 1 on trolling motor but have not seen the larger lss2 on there good luck either way you go

I dont know why an LSS2 transducer wouldnt be fine on the front as well.

Mike, My idea was it is longer and hence a little more in the way, and it would cover my US2 up so I would have to mount sonar & Lss2 transducers on a bracket but then again that wouldnt be the end of the world. The only one I ever saw on a Trolling motor was the Lss 1 but I am sure there are some Lss 2s mounted there also. Just looking for others opinions and experiences that are more knowledgeable on this subject than me.Dan

We see little need for an LSS2 on the troller, though DI is a nice add. It requires a few MPH to maximize the screen flow on the troller for images to be read well. Just not as efficient on the troller as idling on the transom.

So are you suggesting I go with like the Lowrance Touch 7? Can that unit be networked to the HDS 10 Gen2 on the console? Anybody? I am also pretty sure I can get a hold of a Lss 1 I fished with a guy that had the Lss 1 on his troller and it was awesome for getting right on a stake bed. He even switched to sidescan a couple of times when he would miss it and instantly found it. I dont mind scouting with my Lss 2 on the console & transom, but if I am going to fish a brushpile or stake bed I would much prefer to have my eyes up on the front of the boat while I sneak in from a little distance.Dan

Thats why I have it on the front, I fish a lot of deep single rocks and can get right over it with the down image.
