Have a 2006 Sabre with the X52 in the dash. Looking to switch out to a LMS 520c or 522c. Hope someone can save me some research time with “experience”. Checked on FAQ and didnt locate. Are the internal antennas working ok or is it best to go with the external? Will the transducer and external water temp sensor from the X52 connect up to and work with the 520/522? Is there a better option than the 520/522? needs to be Navionics hotmap friendly. thanks..
Get an external antenna just to be on the safe side. As far as the temp sensor, more than likely the same, but you can quickly find out by visiting the Lowrance site. Theres not a better option for your console than a 520 or 522.
I would suggest the 520 with the external antennae. I put a 522 on the bow of my 07 Puma and the antennae could not hold the signal. I added an external and the unit works perfectly. Go with the external and you will be much happier. Alan
The externals are better on the bow units, and they work fine on in dash models from our experience. Some prefer the external, though. The temp probes will not interchange. BCB
