Ive searched quite a bit here and BBC, but wanted to get input from those that have done the same. Just ordered my structure scan from Three Rivers for my 2 HDS-7s. I want to install the unit in the starboard locker on the wall in front of the console. Thinking of taping into the accessory hot wire on the round A-10 panel. Havent looked under there yet, but what is the best way to tap into it – using one of those clips that you put in-line on the hot wire? Also, where to ground? I do a lot of mechanical work myself, but electrical always gives me pause, for some reason. Anyway, cant wait to have the structure scan, and I appreciate any input. Thanks guys.

That is exactly where mine is, but I paid $85 to have it installed. I didnt want to do any cutting on my console. Sorry I cant help.

You can use the accessory line for power, though look on the left side of your console and you should have open ground and hot wires there just for this purpose. The rod box is a great place many have used. We put them under the console ourselves. The moderators to this point were not electrically savvy and we hope this answers your questions.

Heres a picture of where BassCat installed my, I like it there, you can see that the power is on there is no holes in the console. Not the best picture I have ever took but you get the ideal where they installed it.

Thanks Issy – Im rethinking location and am now leaning toward under the console.
