Lynx Trailer Brake Line

I have a 2018 Lynx Trailer- The rubber brake line that goes across the rear axle has broken 3 times now at the connection into the caliper on the right side. The left side caliper has a 12″ or so steel line that the rubber line connects to. On the right caliper, the rubber line goes directly into the caliper. Am I supposed to have a short steel line on the right caliper also with the rubber line running in between?

They are a direct connection though we certainly don’t see an issue with the steel lines stubbing in. Most are shearing from road obstacles and be sure the banjo fitting is turned where it doesn’t contact road trash tossed up, or contact the trailer itself.
