Excuse my ignorance on electrical issues but would there be an issue with replacing the 20a with the 50a? Thanks.Circuit breakers are installed at a certain rating to protect downstream wiring and equipment. If you go to the 50 amp breaker you could damage wiring or equipment or if conditions were right, a fire could result. Yes those are extremes but it could happen. Bottom line is install another 20 amp. If that one keeps tripping, that will tell you that you have a problem with something on the circuit causing it to trip. You say you have it isolated to the breaker so just replace it. They operate by the internal contacts actually heating up and expanding to break contact, so they can go bad on occasion. They arent expensive either so just replace it and you should be good to go. Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!
