I have no idea for sure what happened but my trailer brakes were making noise in slow speed turns on Sat. Didnt have time to look at the brakes as I got home late from the lake. Had to go out early Sun. on the Delta so couldnt look at what was going on till I got home. Got home and jacked the trailer up and tried to rotate the rear tire and all it did was make a grinding noise. Pulled the wheel and to my shock the rotor is totally chewed up. Tried to pull the caliper and had to use a pry bar to compress the pads. The damn thing was really tough to compress that piston. The pads are all the way down to the metal. Turns out there is corrosion on the piston. There is a tear on the rubber boot that should keep the water out. So I think the water got in and sat there and corroded the piston and froze it up. Checked the master cyl. and it was bone dry. Bet it all overheated and boiled out.Looked at the other side and the rotor is worn a bit but nothing like the other side so I think its salvageable. The reel problem is I have a tournament on this coming Sat. It goes to help the wounded worriers and I dont want to miss it. What is the procedure for a warranty repair as this was bought brand new in May 2011 by me. I have no issue with having the parts rushed to me and installing them myself. Im a retired mechanic so this is easy stuff for me. If push came to shove I could remove the calipers and plug the lines just for this one event. I drove a big rig for a few years cross country and pulling this for one trip without brakes wouldnt tough. I have a Yukon XL with 4 wheel disk brakes that I used to tow a race car on a trailer that had no brakes and never had issue with stopping. I will repair the brakes as soon as I can get the parts. Looks like I need to replace at least one caliper and one rotor although I would like to replace both rotors and both calipers as I know the other caliper got way hot and I bet the piston seals are shot. Are there caliper rebuild kits for these?Help!Builder of fine Bass Fishing RodsReel Bearing and Drag upgrades.B2 Custom RodsBoca Bearings

I have to pay for the shipping but no complaints there as I figured that would be the case.
