Out of curiosity what is the most common supplied and/or BCB recommended prop on 150 powered Margays? Tried to find of it had been mentioned before, but I havent had much luck on with the search since the change over on the forum.

I believe the Margays were shipped with a 24p Fury 3 originally. That is what was on my 2014 Margay. At some point BCB switched to a 23p Tempest Plus. I have the 150 hp Optimax Pro XS. The fury gave a good hole shot and top end, but lacked midrange and was very weight sensitive. Hard to get the nose up with a partner and his gear. I dont know how the Tempest performs. After much research on Bass Boat Central, I changed to a 24p Signature SL4 with 4 one inch vent holes. The Signature is a large diameter prop similar to a Bravo. I get a great hole shot, good midrange and can keep the nose up when cruising at 35-45 mph. It is not as fast on top end as the Fury but the overall performance is much better for my purposes.

Im running a 24p bravo xs. As basspack mentioned, weight was my issue with the 24p fury. solo was fine. as soon as I added a partner and extra equipment, holeshot was terrible. Went to a 23p tempest, but again was along same line as the fury prop, little better on holeshot. I have a 24p bravo xs now and happier with it. still adjusting how many holes I should have open on it since I have 8 holes to work with. Im running the merc 150 four stroke, so tish less power than the two stroke will give you… Im running a little over 1 mph per every 100 rpm with it. That said, solo was 58.4mph (5,700 rpm). duo Ive had around 50 mph, but havent pushed for top speed yet with duo. I also have a fortrex and helix 12 up front along with 31 batteries. Im also a bigger guy at 290lbs, so again, Im not running as light as some are.Jared
