Margay Prop Question

I have a 2012 Margay 36V trolling motor (4 batteries) and a power pole. With a 150 Pro Xs. Right now Im running a 25 Tempest Plus and Im seeing about 67 mph at right around 5500 rpm with 2 people light gear and half tank fue,l water temp was around 55-60 when I saw that speed. I was thinking about trying to a 24 Tempest Plus to get the rpms up and give it a little extra in the hole shot. I was looking for opinions before making the switch, any help is appreciated.

Rpms do sound a little low, but your top end sounds pretty good with 2 people plus an extra battery. Thats right around what I regularly see with the 24 fury with 24v tm, I have 1 powerpole as well (5600rpm-65-67mph). If you do make a change and exceed 67-68 with 2 people please send me a pm Id like to hear all about it. The 24 tempest should improve your holeshot. Has your 25 tempest been worked? Im thinking about getting either a 24 or 25 tempest myself just to have a spare. I dont believe the prop has been worked, but Im not for sure. It was the one that came when I bought the boat used. And I honestly havent done a speed run by myself yet Ive only been out a couple times by myself and those days werent days I could open it or was willing to open it up, way to much wind for my taste those days. If I do Ill let you know.

Whats your height for the prop shaft? And I assume the motor is on a Jack Plate

The prop shaft is just shy of 4 inches below pad. So when Bass Cat replied is a 24 Fury what they recommend usually for this setup?

The 24 is worth trying as the Margay hole shot is usually fair. It might be an inch steep for some. Engine height is all about steering torque. Too much torque to the right and your too high.
