margay tilting to left before plane

Torque from the motor. I have a Sabre that does the same thing. Im no expert but theres little you can do to get rid of the torque.

Im sure others will chime in too but apart from trying to adjust your load a bit, the only thing we have to adjust the dynamic is trim and prop. Not like an airplane where you have a rudder and ailerons to control the torque, p factor, and adverse yaw. Some larger boats have mechanical trim tabs that may help some too.

I think the hull design has something to do with this. The BassCat hull carries a deep v well aft to the pad so there is very little hull outside the longitudinal axis to counter that torque at lower speeds. Then as speed increases the effectiveness of the pad increases to counter the torque.Last edited by apdriver on March 9th, 2014, 4:15 am, edited 1 time in total.

We will buzz this by the factory next week. We ourselves dont have the answer though we do know there is a large range in horsepower on the Margay and they all perform differently.

Every boat I have ever had, except my first boat, leaned to the left when taking off, before reaching full plane. My Cougar does it as well.
