Matching a BCB to my tow vehicle

Periodic towing with a vehicle rated for 5000 lbs should be just fine with all BCB models. The 19 and 20 foot models you should have no problems at all. I would think it may be a little stressed with the 20 foot models though. I would say if you will be towing alot or on long hauls you may need to upgrade your tow vehicle. I personally wouldnt own anything less than a full size truck or suv for towing. None of the so called cross over vehicles are really made for proper towing. They are mostly cars with truck or suv bodys. I know they can do the job but are they really made for it. Anyhow, you should be fine just do the proper maintenance and be carefull. The Toyota 4-runners, Chevy trailblazers, Nissan pathfinders, Jeep Cherokees all tow well even though they are not full sized. They have truck chassis and strong engines and transmissions. They get the job done well. Its the Honda Pilots, Toyota Highlanders, Gmc Acadias that arent up to snuff for towing. Nice vehicles for the family but just not made to do the heavy work. Your 4runner should be able to pull the weight, but can it stop it? Youd be fine w/ the 18 footers and sripped classics, but get dual trailer w/ brakes if pulling the PIV or larger.

I have had no issues towing my Puma with my Honda Pilot, even towed a Cougar from Arkansas to Indiana with it. But, I drive cautiously and never, ever push the speed too hard. I am also very meticulous about maintenance of brakes, tires, suspension, etc. May go to a full size Tundra someday, but right now, have to use what I have to go fishing. Just my two cents.
