Guys have a little story to share with you. I am the proud owner of a 2012 Eyra with a Merc 250 Pro XS. I will try to keep this as short as possible. I had a lower unit go out last friday. I got the new one put on in time to have 1 day to practice for a tournament today (would have been faster but freight company let it sit at there facility for 3 days when it only took a 2 days to make it cross country.) So I practice yesterday without issue and finding good quality fish. Get home put boat in garage and a pool of oil comes out of the foot. Call Dealership (Regal Marine in Jasper,AL) at 6:45pm after hours on a Friday. I recieved a call 15 min later Mr Martin (mechanic) will meet you at the dealership. He has a 30 min drive to shop and I have a 45 min. He does his work up on the boat and goes through all the steps diagnosis the issue and gets the seal replaced. After some more work on motor realizes it is a seperate issue from the seal which will be very labor intensive. After all that being said they offer me there personal boat for use in the tourny we left dealership at 11:00 PM. I chose not to use there boat so did not fish. I later found out that Mr Martin voluntered to come in, they didnt tell him to. He wanted to get me running and he did his best. My fishing partner was so impressed he probably mentioned it 10 times to people who he talked to in the last 24 hours. Their responses where what dealership does that , I would have had to wait till Tuesday b/c my shop is closed on Monday, and that makes me think twice about where I buy my next boat. All this being said I cant wait to get that Merc Survey because they probably do not have enough room on the paper for all I have to say. I am not trying to make this sound like a ad for my dealership but more like a endorsement for a great mechanic who knows his stuff (regardless of brand), works for great people (no matter what brand they sell they just happen to sell the best one), and works on a great motor.(that has no room for interpretation) I am very fortunate as a tournament angler to be associated with BCB, Mercury, and Regal Marine.
it is nice to know that you can get good service like that in this day and age!! to bad our motors arent as good!!
As I recall, the folks from Regal repaired trailer bearings or seals for someone at the SEBCOG this past October while the fishermen fished. All 3 of the AL BCB dealerships are top notch in my eyes.
