Guys I bought a 2002 P3 with a 200 opti. I really dont know any thing about the history of the boat. If i`m not mistaken in 02 the they where 2.5 liters and in 03 they changed to 3 liters. while looking over the engine I noticed a sticker on the heads stamped 2003 from merc. If the power head had blown with the previous owner and they had to change the power head would it change it to a 3 liter ? Thanks KC
All 200 Optis were 3.0 to my knowledge. The old EFIs were 2.5 and all of the high reving Mercury Racing motors. Either has proven to be excellent motors in that year range. Judd Lasiter
That probably would be a 2003 head, though as EK mentioned, they are all 3.0 ltr. blocks on 200 Opti. The EFI version has a 2.5 and 3.0 liter in the same years. Racing engines are different in many varieties as was pointed out. BCB
