Bought a 99 classic with mercury 3000 control box. Fished out of it for first time last week. Bought a new kill switch lanyard and long story, after couple stops to fish noticed the lanyard was not hooked up , but motor still cranked. Looked under dash and both wires have been cut at switch. Now I dont know if switch went bad and they bypassed it. Thats the only good reason I could think of!! My question is, I need a wiring diagram to hook a after market kill switch up or try to replace the factory one. I assume its a closed circuit and opens when lanyard is pulled. Any ideals ?
