A buddy of mine was fishing last night in a local stump infested lake and caught a stump pretty much full on. He was only idling but it killed the motor and now it wont shift into forward. The motor restarted and runs fine and goes into reverse fine. I know we are going to have to take it apart but just thought Id would see if any of yall might have any ideas or a direction to where to start. Oh, the motor is a 1999 Mercury EFI 175 HP. Thanks!!
