Today I noticed water leaking into the lower cowling of my 2000 mercury xr6. Traced to the hose thats connected to the cap next to the piss line. The water is leaking around where the hose attaches to motor. This hose goes straight from the cap on the cowling to the bottom of the engine and connects to a fitting. Does anyone know what this is or how serious it is?
If the hose is leaking, cut the hose past where the fitting is a re-attach. If the fitting is leaking, pull the fitting out, clean the threads, teflon tape and re-attach fitting. Should be an easy fix.
Thanks everyone thought it was the fitting but tightened the hose clamps some and it stopped. Hopefully thats all it was. Ill have to keep an eye on it. Thanks again
