The above poster was right. I made the same switch on my previous boat which was not a Bass Cat. Everything I read said the holes should match up. Mine did not and I even removed the side plate to access the additional holes and none would line up.

You might not need the silicone. Because the Fortrex is suppose to have hole that will match up with a motor guide.

Ill be doing the same in the spring, replacing Maxxum with Fortex. Its been posted on here several times that the holes should match up though we may have to remove side plate. As far as the holes, is there any plates or nuts under deck cap that may fall when we take screws out of old motor mount? Is there any other surprises we should look out for? Figure several on here have already have changed these motors out.
