Hey guys, I just put a Ultrex on my Sabre and the foot controller is bigger than the Terrova I replaced. On the Terrova I would always unplugged the motor when charging the batteries because I had a lot of room but with the Ultrex it is hard to get to, I have to set it out of the well to get to the plug. To the point has anyone used an in line disconnect and if so can it be installed on the back of the boat where it is easy to get to. Thanks in advance Tom

Why unplug? I simply turn the main switch on the foot control to “off” and set the speed to “0” and dont bother with unplugging.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200

On my new cat they installed a breaker switch for the trolling motor batteries so I can shut off any bleed without ever unplugging the troller. I have the ultrex too and you will not regret getting it.

Yes old timer the dealer suggested I unplug the motor when charging because these are not your fathers trolling motors, with all the circuits I guess it might be a good idea. Yes I would love to see a picture of the breaker Speck, thanks

While some boat companies hard wire trolling motors to reduce costs of a removable plug, BCB continues to suggest unplugging them when not in use. There are so many reasons, so just unplug them when not in use. BCB

I would if I could but Id have to remove the TM foot peddle to get plug out. Just not an option for many of us.

Jones trolling motor sells a breaker with a manual switch that you can turn off while charging.

There is still the potential for damage. Its best to unplug or use a disconnect. I use the BEP 701 disconnect for my MK.I use one for my Talon also

Catdude 28 your rear compartment is just too clean and organized! I wish mine could be that clean but it just aint so. Looks good buddy Im just messin with you.Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!
