MinnKota Talon bracket

I have a Talon to install on my 09 cougar ftd. does anyone have this same setup? what bracket size do I need. The boat has a Detwiller jackplate if that makes any difference. Thanks for the help.

I was told by a local dealer (non Bass Cat) a few days ago to wait a bit because MinnKota was redesigning some of their brackets. This dealer said they had stopped installing the bracket made for Skeeters because vibration was causing the mounting bolts to work loose. I dont know if any brackets on BCBs have had this problem but I believe the dealer said they were being redesigned as well. If anyone can confirm or deny this, I would be interested to know.

We double nut and use Nylock nuts so we do not have this issue that we are aware of.

Here is a close up of the mounting hardware that I received with my Talon. I have the two star lock washers holding the Talon to the H bracket. I also have the double washers with nylon nuts that hold the H bracket to the transom mounting arm.I did the install myself in about 30 min and have had no issues with any bolts coming loose.

You need to call Minn Kota Technical Service at 1-800-227-6433, they have redesigned the mounting bracket if you are using the one sandwich between the jackplate and motor and the vertical adjustment hardware do to loosing while running in rough water, if you have one please call.Thanks, Gary Isgrigg

There is a new slide mounting system that should assist in the mounting issue of the pole to the adjustable bracket.

The best intel Ive been able to gather leads me to believe that I need the J9SL bracket for my 08 Cougar/250 ProXS. Has anyone else used this bracket?
