I rarely post but wanted to throw this out there. The military is sending me to Montgomery for a year. I am trying to decide whether to take my Puma or leave it in Arkansas. Good bass fishing near Montgomery? I have found some information but would like some information from folks in the area. If I do t take it, then I’ll put it up for sale to get ready for a new one.

Oh yeah! Alabama River, Lake Martin, up the road from Eufaula and Seminole. Then a short drive up I-65 to Jordan and Lay Lake. Let alone your three hours from Guntersville. No… Leave the Puma in Arkansas, then regret it! BCB

PLENTY of good fishing within a 2 hour drive, and some within 20 minutes. Youve got the Alabama River, both the Montgomery pool and the Millers Ferry pool near Camden, AL. Lay Lake, Lake Mitchel, Logan Martin, Lake Martin. Edit: I forgot Lake Jordan. Consistently ranked as one of the best, and almost literally at your back door. Then in North Alabama, youve got Guntersville, Wilson, Wheeler, Pickwick…all on the Tennessee River.Last edited by Midnight Rider on July 4th, 2018, 3:27 pm, edited 1 time in total.

You will be about centrally located to some of the best fishing in the state.As BCB and Midnight Rider stated. Leave it in Arkansas and regret it.

Yeah bring the Puma. I live in Prattville. Bout 30 minutes north of Maxwell. Your literally less than 1/4mile from the Al River if your on anywhere on Maxwell. I was station at Maxwell,and now work as a construction contractor here. Im here every day. If you have any questions about the area, fishing related or not, holler at me. 334-850-0549. Scott

Yes the Coosa spots are fun but the shear numbers and weight at Gville get my vote. Then again Im not the best at loading up on spots. They are damn fun though when they are eatin.

The spots at AL river are so mean and fun to catch you will forgot about that clean ARK water very soon. On side note…you will have an all new meaning to “scum line” once you pull boat out most of time
