I posted a note here 6/15/09 about my troubles with my Lowrance 3500C GPS Map unit. It was turning on and off on its own. I bought the unit in 2006, just before the Bass Cat factory tournament in Mountain Home. Lowrance wanted $200 up front to check the unit. I almost sent it back for repair/replace refurb but I decided against it. I would rather put my money on a new unit. I picked up my 08 Classic in July of 08 and I have a Lowrance 520 in the dash and a 510 on the bow. Guess what. The 520 has the same problem, I turn it on and it stays a minute or two and goes off. So it is useless as is. I think I read posts of other guys having this trouble too. I think my unit came with a 2 year warranty (?) but I have not called yet to see what I have to do. I bought a new Lowrance 522 for my old Sabre in May not long before I got my Classic. I decided on Lowrance electronics for the Classic because I was familuar with the operation of their GPS units. That may have been a bad decision. Getting them on the phone is a big hassle too and the conversation about the GM 3200 was cold with a TS attitude. I have Furuno electronics on my 2000 Contender and I have not had the first problem and that is fishing saltwater too. I just wondered if anyone else has had this on/off problem that I am having or this is just and isolated trouble.?? Skipjack
Skipjack, There is contact information on this site for Linda Colt, search at the top, and she is your best option. She is in house and a wonderful Ambassador for Lowrance/Navico. BCB
I had an 06 model 332c that would come on by its self. Did that a couple times and then the third time I walked out in the shop and it was on, wouldnt cut off. Lowrance had me send the unit in ( it was about a year old) and they sent me a new one. Havent had that problem anymore and its been a couple years or more.
Same problem with my 2006 332c replaced 3 times before it worked. Then my 518 started doing same thing. Lowrance tech. not too friendly. Solution to problem; got new Humminbirds. No more problem, very friendly helpful technicians. Good bye Lowrance
Search Results For: Lowrance, Linda Colt Showing Results 1 to 3 of 3 I entered Lindas name in the search space as above and I get the message that there are three results, but they do not show up anywhere that I can read the results of the search. I must be doing something wrong, and I tried this a couple of times, same results. Suggestions? Skipjack

Skipjack… Had same issue you are talking about with Lowrance turning on and off. Worked with Linda Colt and she was terrific. Was very straightforward as to what could or could not be done. She actually went beyond the call of duty to expedite a loaner unit to me prior to a tournament I had scheduled. My experience was very positive! I will tell you, however, that she is a VERY busy lady. It took her some time to respond to my initial email, but when she got to me it was handled promptly and professionally.
Having to send my 5200 global map off today—–wish I had a Hummingbird!!!!!!!!!!!!BAYOU BANDIT
My 102C started doing the same thing last week. Would not stay on. Purchased in 2006 so warrany has expired. Since I live in Tulsa, I took it to the factory and Linda Colt told me they would replace it for $199. Only problem is they are on backorder. I assumed they would have plenty of replacements at the factory. Seems they are manufactured in Mexico or elsewhere. I always used Lowrance since they were local. Never had a problem with previous units.
They have been manufactured in Mexico for well over a decade.
