I believe what Cajunhunter67 said could very well be the culprit. I had the same thing happen on one of my previous boats with a 225 EFI. It completely killed power to the motor. I had to idle back to the ramp, pumping the bulb, because it couldnt build a prime. I went home thinking I lost a fuel pump, but my dad played with the tank selector, we heard a vent sound, and the problem never arose again.
