I have a ’16 Cougar Advantage with Evin. 250 HO G2. When I’m driving on the road with the boat and I go over a bump the motor trims up all the way by itself. Nobody can figure out why.
Didn’t that motor have an “auto trim” feature? Not sure why a bump in the road would cause that to activate – probably a poor wire connection somewhere, maybe a short that’s created when the motor bounces?
Check for water intrusion into the trim switch on the cowl of the outboard . — Should be able to test just by unplugging the switch . — Common problem .
