Ive always run the 3-blade metal prop on my 36V Motorguides when the grass gets thick. On my 14 Eyra, however, the prop tends to make a squealing noise whenever the motor is above a 4 setting (out of 10). I thought maybe my dinged up prop was the cause of the problem, so I switched to a new one, but it still made substantial noise at mid-to-high speeds.Once Id tested two different props, I thought perhaps it was the motor itself, but when I switched to a plastic prop today the problem went away. Of course, that created a new problem — couldnt bust through the thick grass.Any thoughts on how to solve this?Thanks

^^^^LOL^^^. Seriously, I have to think its the metal to metal between your prop and TM shaft setting up your squeal. Im sure youve turned it by hand looking and listening for contact. Make sure the shaft is true. Then I would think a bit of lube on your shaft would take care of it.

TM is fine. Aluminum props are bad to be out of balance. Solution is one of these. Will help tremendously. http://www.basscatstore.com/theeliminatorpropnut.aspx

I use the Eliminator prop nut on my MG for the composite Safari and Machete blades. It doesnt work miracles, but it does quiet them somewhat up to high-mid range speeds. I dont know if anything will quiet down an MG at high speeds. Still my TM of choice. The Eliminator is much easier to get on/off to clean your prop shaft. Plus it just looks Cool. I hang my props off my bench vise on a long spike and check them for balance (similar to balancing a lawnmower blade). Not a perfect method, but I file the nicks out of the leading edge, and just take a little off the edge with the file until it balances side to side on the spike. May not be the recommended method, but it works for me.Ive always been leery of the metal blades because I worried about bending the TM shaft if I hit a stump, as opposed to just breaking a blade off.
