My wife and I just got back from our week long vacation at Bull Shoals. We had a great time fishing and seeing the area as it was our first trip to AR. The fishing was somewhat slow because of the temps in the upper 100s but I got some good limits on a few days and had a lot of fun catching schooling Largemouths in the mornings (Only white bass do that where I live). I learned a lot about dissecting a new lake and using my electronics. The Bass Cat Factory was great to see and Pete was very gracious to show us around and he spent lots of time answering all of my questions. I had the factory replace my trailer bunks while I was in town and they did a great job with that too. I also went to two other boat factories in the area( much to my wifes chagrin) and that was fun and educational as well. They both build a good product but you can really see the areas that Bass Cat rises above the competition. Bass Cat has been doing things for years that some of the other guys tout as the latest and greatest. Everyone at Bass Cat was so helpful and you really feel like part of the family. (I have to say that the tour guide at the larger factory, a legend in his own right, was an awesome guy and was a pleasure to be around and really did a good as an ambassador of the company. We got to see some special pre production stuff that was pretty cool.) I am ready to order a new BCB now more than ever. Im glad that my wife got to see everything too, so she now knows what bass boats are all about. Thanks to everyone who made suggestions on restaurants. KCJs had to be at the top of the list of the few places that we went. Unfortunately, Gastons left a lot to be desired but the view was nice. Overall we had a great vacation and learned to never get out of your truck at the Howard Creek Ramp without putting it in park. One of the guests staying at our resort rolled his Toyota Highlander into the lake and with a pontoon in tow and as you may have guessed, the pontoon survived but the SUV did not. Nice way to end a vacation.
