I just picked up a 2008 Pantera 2 and was hoping for a few suggestions on where to install a Lowrance HDS8. The boat currently has a Lowrance 520c built into the console and a 510 on the bow. Id like to put my HDS8 in the console but its too big. And, I hate the idea of drilling holes into the boat. any suggesions?
Some have mounted a dress plate covering the holes and used a backing plate to screw it into with no drilling required in the boat. Then mount the RAM to the fixture plate. The reason the LCR capability on the dash is for small units is to keep folks from raising the retail cost and many now are wanting larger units. Though we saw little of large units three years ago.$39,020.93 plus $250 for Steve for engine warranty It is more common today and we have seen sub $30k packages with $5k added in electronics on rigs with an engines only twice that cost. We just try to keep things in proportion though we do understand the want and desire to dress one up. The 09 and later have the funnel recess mount option for a RAM.
Thanks for the suggestions. Also, is it common for Bass Cat boats to have the trim switch mounted on the left side of the steering column and the hydraulic jack plate on the right? By the way, the Pantera 2 is a nice boat.
