I am thinking about putting a i-pilot Terrova on my 03 Cougar, but i refuse to have it sticking out of the front of the boat I am looking at building a slide mount out of a Minn Kota quick release bracket so the motor could be stowed without hanging out the front for docks and trees to grab. My idea would be to take the mka-42 long bracket for a conventional minn kota mount the lower half to the boat and shorten the upper half (mounted to the motor)and devise a locking in place system and safty stops so the motor would have 2 positions slide it back its in and out of harms way slide it forward for deploy and use. Has anyone tried this or does any one make such a brkt.
