Mounting Fortrex

I am replacing my MG with a Fortrex on 99 PIII and the bolt holes dont line up. Should I drill new holes in the boat and mount it directly flat on the bow with no isolators or try to make an adapter plate out of aluminum and use existing holes. The inside of the Fortrex is not wide enough to drill new holes in it to line up.Thanks

The holes will not line up on a BCB install. Thus you are relegated to redrilling new bolt holes.

So would you mount it directly to the hull with no rubber isolators? Or use some kind of rubber padding in between.

The mount holes will line up- when looking at the front of the motor take off the left hand cover on the mount and there is holes under it to fit the motorguide holes. I swapped mine out and worked perfect.

I swapped a fortrex in for a MG 109 on a 2002 cat and everything lined up like dragandfly states, I did not use any rubber spacers and did use the BCB aluminum backing plates underneath.

Man, you guys rock on here!! dragandfly was correct on taking the left side off and there were holes there and it lined right up. Thanks for all the info.
