Mounting Gatorbak Bunk Boards

I recently installed my premade Gatorback bunk boards that i recieved from BCB..i centered the boards perfectly on the upright brackets and found that the hull chines was too tight to the bunks for the boat to load properly..chine would be setting on top of the bunk on one side or the other..had to unbolt the bunks and shift each board a tad over 1/4 inch from centered toward the trailer fenders and that made a world of difference..i am was wondering how BCB is placing them on new trailers because centered on the brackets would not work for me on a 2014 Cougar FTD..

they have mounting templates that position the bunks and place them to fit between chines.

This is precisely what i had to do..long boards..front brackets are centeredmiddle bracket is 5/16 inch off centered towards the fenders..rear bracket is also 5/16 inch off centered toward the fender..short boards are 5/16 inch off centered toward the fenders on all 3 brackets..centering the boards makes the bunks too tight to the chines..just a little info for someone planning a install..this was on a 2014 Cougar FTD..

Website says to center on the brackets and that would be fine for carpeted bunks because carpet will smash..Gatorbak wont..

A template would be nice. Should be simple enough. I would think the trailors are built with a jig.making each models location in the same place2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury

Another bit of info..instaltion instructions on website says to rip the boards so that they are 4 3/4 wide..my premade Gatorbak bunks from BCB the board width is4 1/2..had they have been 4 3/4, i would have had more of a problem when i centered them on the upright brackets..not trying to start a war, but you are left scratching your head when you load your boat after the install and it wont set down between the chines..i have been there..

I saw a type of bunk material at bass pro this last weekend. it didnt have the same name as I recall but looked identical. it wasnt cheap
