So, I finally got my Pantera. Unfortunately the weekend did not go to plan and Murphy was heavily involved. The ride down was filled with traffic for construction costing us about two hours. Then we flooded the motor during testing. Then, we got to the Waterloo area to launch and found out the nearest place to get a license was in MacFarland, over 30 miles away. So we got the licenses and put in at MacFarland. Fished for a few hours but the water levels were so low we couldnt get much. Thought we would cruise up the river some and made it to Waterloo by water. Father in law caught a couple, I caught grass and mud! At this point we found out that the promised charge in the tolling batteries did not happen as they died. So we decided to head back. About halfway back, she runs out of gas. Crucial lapse in judgement. Now, no gas, no trolley! Thankfully another boat stopped and towed us to the ramp they let in at (Nachez-Trace). Unfortunately the water level had dropped so much, everybody gets stuck in the mud. A few of us were forced to get out in thigh high mud and push boats to the ramp. Finally got everybody out, except us! Remember, my truck is still in MacFarland! Thankfully some guys drove me to the truck while my father in law waited with the boat. By the time I got back, it was dark and I had to jump back in thigh high mud, now in the dark and cold to get he boat out. Finally, we were coming home this morning. I thought the dark cloud had passed. We even got o stop at Bass Pro Shop in Nashville. We are mKing great time and I think we are actually getting home at a decent hour. Then, BAM, Murphy shows up. Four hours from home, the trailer tire blows. It quickly dawns on me that the seller mentioned he lack of a spare. Thank god it happened right next to a tractor supply but 2.5 hours and 139 bucks were gone. I sure hope this boat was worth it
I have a terrible feeling that you and Mr. Murphy were well acquainted before this trip ever started.
That is rough but look on the bright side it probably cant get any worse. Hopefully you have seen the last of Mr. Murphy.
Year model?
It is an 88 Pantera 2.
Your having a dickens of a time with this one!
Not to be mean but zero fault on the boats part. No charge on the batteries, not enough gas to make the long run you made, and making a long road trip knowing you dont have a spare….your over sight Thank goodness you had several good people close by to help you out. Sorry to hear about the bad trip and I hope that you have many great trips and memories in your new to you BCB.Elwood…..Bass Cat Proud

I wish that I had the time to take on a project like that…it would be wise to contact a gentleman know as totalbeverage on the BBC site for rebuilt questions. I think he is on his third or forth P2 rebuild. have fun and hope your next trip is blessed with full livewells.Elwood…..Bass Cat Proud
LA Elwood, no worries. I know it was my fault. You just hope all the worst case scenarios dont hit all at once….they did. As for repair work, Scubaman154 lives across the street and is a repair genius. I am in good hands!
