I first met IKE shortly after he won the BASS Championship at the BASS University in Arlington TX where he was a speaker. Got to spent some time with him talking about fishing in the New Jersey area as I was raised in the New York New Jersey area and we fished some of the same lakes. Many times during our conversation he would stop to accommodate a youngster with an autograph and answer any questions they would ask. He really loves kids and quite frankly he is a just big kid ! Got to visit with him again at Lake Fork while he was fishing the Toyota Tournament and again if there was a kid around he was talking to him. He is very passionate about the sport of fishing and like many other professional sports people he gives 100% of himself to win and as a rule there maybe times when they will have some emotional outburst when things go wrong. I enjoy his enthusiasm and my encounters with him were all positive, I like him! This is for Rick, got a chance to spend sometime with your Mon & Dad at the at Lake Fork. I had just purchased a 2007 Bass Cat Puma and wanted to let them know how much I really loved the boat and how friendly everyone at the factory seemed to be and during our conversation he learned that I used to own property on the lake in Mt. Home and from there I learned the history of his political life and the back ground of the Bass Cat family. Your Mom & Dad are just great down to earth people and I understand why Bass Cat is such a great quality and successful company.Last edited by Tank Man on September 25th, 2008, 5:20 pm, edited 1 time in total.
