Topic: My fender has come loose…

Noticed that the passenger side fender on my P2( dual axle) trailer was loose while driving from a tournament the other day. Yesterday I crawled under and looked, and it looks like the bonding substance that holds the fender down on the metal plate is no longer holding to the fiberglass. I havent talked to my local dealer yet, is this something that can be fixed locally?

Oh yeah. Stuff is called uroflex. Urethane window adhesive. Get a STRONG gun, squirt a bunch under there, take a board and place it on top of fender and c clamp the fender down to metal plate. Let sit 24 hrs. DoneC.O.D. Jr. III

Ward-Do I need to try to get the old adhesive off first ?

I would. Gonna need a chisel or paint stripper and hammer. Email pete and make sure im not missing any pearls. Ive done this once on mine. Deep c clamp took careful work to find.C.O.D. Jr. III

It is usually pretty hard to remove the adhesive. We would power wash well under the fender, let it dry and just reseal it with new urethane in most cases. The sealant is not usually spread throughout and the urethane you reset will find the gaps.

My 09 has done the same thing, then that whole area above it on the trailer fender stress cracked. I dont know whether to replace the fender or what. Mike

If the area is cracked, then we would assume something forced that fender loose. BCB Admin.

It came loose and then the cracks showed up a few weeks later. I live on a dirt road and i think it just rattled loose, then when I stepped on the fender steps it cracked the gelcoat. Mike
