My last ride in my Eyra and A new chapter begins

Ok, took my Eyra out for the last time. 81.6 on the GPS going up river, no current, light load, 20 gallons of gas, 4 rods, 6 – 3700 boxes, 10 lbs of plastics and man was it fun. 1.5″ below pad hitting 6016 RPMS turning a 27p Fury prop. Oh there is so much more potential. What a fun boat. My buyer is from Louisana and he will be picking it up next Friday in the am. Come Saturday Ill be ordering a smaller BassCat and have no idea what Ill end up with. I have about 5 different color schemes I have created and its going to be a fun sit down with Scott Brech at Brech Marine. To Be Continued.BassCat Strong!Flyswatter

Congrats on the sale.I say Sabre FTD and reverse my colors.Like to see that boat at Sabre Central.

Congrats Tom and your new owner, I dont see you in another standard Sabre….the Sabre FTD with the 175 is pushing into the PII price range and you have the garage for the PII. Youve had a PIV. The Margay is a nice boat, its not what you are accustomed too. There are several little things different on that boat not found on the rest of the lineup. Not to say anything negative as it was designed to compete with the Stratos 186 etc… and I imagine kicks butt! My money is on you walking out with a PII order. I enjoyed fishing with Kelly, small enough to flick around on top of the waves in rough water big enough to fish comfortably for days. Storage for two and then some. The deal sealer for you will be the speed potential. If you decide to go 18 and can deal with speeds less than 80 I really liked the Sabre FTD, choose a 150 and you can load one up nice while saving some coin. I know you like the goodies LOL. Which ever you choose Im sure you will be happy happy with it…..Im simply thinking out loud here

John, You comments are insightful. The PII is on the higher side if my wish list. Its possible. Of all the boats Id love to have that rig with a SHO would be the one I want. Got to fess up one hidden motivation. I have a daughter getting married this summer. You fathers with little girls….. Start saving now!!!!!!!!! LOLIm in a good position now and have to weigh my fishing activity too in the equation. Like I said I have no idea what Ill end up with. It will be Sabre on up to a P2.John thank you for your comments. Sincerely appreciated.

Sabre not as fast but sure is fun to drive and I like mine. 150 Merc. all the boat I need. Your EYRA was the Cadillac though.

Congrats Tom. You will miss that Eyra and so will I. A Sabre FTD with a 175 single axle and light on electronics will get you where you want to be.

Congrats on selling your Eyra Tom. I know from experience what type of impact a daughters wedding can have. By the way, Sherm has some really sharp rigs on his showroom floor, up in Greater Wabash, Indiana. They have some amazing power plants on them too!

Congrats to both buyer and seller. I was sooooooooo close to buying that rig. Keep us posted Fly to what you order. Personally, The PII for me all day every day!
