Was finally able to take a day off and get my Sabre on the water. Getting this boat has been a long time in the making. The folks at REC Lending and Bob at WWM made this an easy transaction and I would recommend them to anyone looking to finance and insure a BassCat. I received advice from a lot of folks including Sherm and members of the board and I received fantastic service and treatment from Joe and Glenda at Franzwas Marine. They are one of an elite few BCB dealers in the Northeast. Id like to thank all of you for your help in finally getting into a BassCat.
Looks great!! Youre going to love it!
Nice boat congrats.golfen
Hey Man, Welcome to the Family! You will not be dissapointed in your purchase. I love my Sabre and wouldnt give it back without a fight! Big enough and Fast enough for my needs. My ETEC has served me well and I have seen speeds in mid 60s fully loaded.
SabreDriver,Was wondering if you would share some information on you boat setup, I have a 2006 Sabre and over the past winter I did some small engine modification (Different Tuner pipe and power reeds) Just added a Detwilier hyd jack plate (Motor XR-6 150HP 23 pitch prop.)Being that me and the boat are about 1200 miles apart I finally got to take it out about a week ago, With full load of fuel and 2 people 450lbs compartments almost full got the boat to 64.5 on gps and it felt like it wanted to run a little faster did not play with the trim on the motor just the jack plateWas wondering if some of the other Saber owners could give me an idea of what type of speeds they are running, with about the same size motor and boat.i dont do well at catching fish so guess i will try and go fast.b2z,boat looks great and you will enjoy the Sabre its a fun boat to run and great to fish out of like all the BCB are.

As far as set up, I havent changed anything from the day I picked it up. I have a manual jackplate and havent adjusted it a bit. Prop is Raker 24. 64.9 is tops for me but I think if I would have had less fuel in the tanks it would have hit 66-67. Sorry no technical help here. I am so boat stupid. My apologies man!
Yes Etec owners you will post Hot speeds with a 150 Etec, they put out a Very Stout 181hp at 6000rpms, MAKE SURE ITS PROPPED to run at 5800-6000rpms with your load and fuel you usually run with, put a Merc prop on her and let her Eat up some hammers and Opti pops…..Probably the best Small Block Production V6, even when it came out in the 90s the Eagle motor was revolutionary…..Great color and motor….Brannon
This is a straight DP model and not an HO model. It will be very efficient and dependable.
Welcome to the family. You will love your BassCat, and you will appreciate even more if you ever have an issue. Their Customer Service is top notch as is their dealer network.
It is set up with a CMC 5 1/2″ Jackplate with a 22″ Raker. Originally had a 24″ Raker with no JP, when the JP was added the 24″ was blowing out and went to a 22″. I need more wheel time before I can really let her eat, which will probably be this spring. I had her on the Delaware River on Friday, but there was way too much debris in the water to do anything. Yesterday my youngest and I took her up to Beltsville, which is a 45mph limit lake, which was good to get a feel for how the boat handles. I was running just under 4,000 RPM to stay below 45 and was playing around with the throttle and trim to find out what could and couldnt do, managed to squeeze in a little fishing and caught my first keeper as well.I love this boat!!!!
